Digital Devil

A satanic program is activated aboard a crowded commercial flight headed for Tokyo. It releases a swarm of invisible demons that send the aircraft plunging to a fiery doom. Everyone aboard is killed instantly - except Akito Kobayashi - owner of the devilish program and sworn ally of hell itself. Kojiro Soma, an old elementary school friend of Akito`s, is surprised to see him enroll back in school. Kojiro notices how this once lonely boy has grown into a suave and arrogant teenager. Later, when his classmates are attacked and legendary demons return to stalk to streets of Tokyo, Kojiro begins to truly understand what his old friend has become. Akito has plans for the human race. The plans revolve around magnetite, the mysterious element that forms the living essence of every human soul. Combined with his demonic software, a strong enough source of magnetite would release a plague of devils upon the Earth. That source exists in Kojiro`s class, but when the evil plan expands beyond even Akito`s grasp, it is Kojiro who must find the ultimate power within himself, and go head-to-head with the greatest demon of all!

Akira is just another normal kid in modern-day Tokyo, until an old friend of his, Ryo, shows up and turns his world upside down. Akira learns that there is an upcoming war of demons on humanity and he has just been enlisted for a major tour of duty. But the only way to fight a demon is with their power, so Akira and Ryo risk a dangerous ceremony in an attempt to create humanity's only hope: the powerful Devilman.

When the world is under attack by a monstrous and seemingly unstoppable enemy, the only way to fight back is with warriors who have already died! Sidestepping a gruesome fate in a subway crash during an earthquake, two young men and a girl find themselves recruited into the ranks of the Devil Summoners and given the ability to literally call up demons to battle against the mysterious Septenriones! Can Hibiki, Daichi and Io survive in a war where demons face demons under human command? Where a person's death can be seen in advance? Where every living being is just a game piece to be saved or expended? And where each clash comes with a clock counting down to Armageddon?

Demons exist and their power is beyond what humans can fathom. In fact, they are so strong that humans do not stand a chance against them in a fight. The only thing strong enough to defeat a demon is another demon, and it is through this logic that Ryo Asuka hatches the plan to have his good-hearted friend, Akira Fudo, possessed by a demon. If a person is of pure of heart, then they might be able to control the demon that possesses them, and thereby acquire power equal to a demon. After raising some hell in a club, the plan works, and Akira is possessed by the powerful demon known as Amon. Now Akira is humanity's sole champion of justice against the hidden demon menace that has plagued humanity since the dawn of time.
