Pumpkin Scissors

Nine months have passed since teen soldier Sousuke Sagara first became Kaname Chidori's covert protector. In that time, Mithril has been remarkably successful at thwarting Amalgam's efforts, but this has only made Amalgam more determined. Leonard Testarossa's visits with Tessa and Kaname are just preludes to all-out attacks that begin with global communications disruptions. Kaname's status as a Whispered makes her one of Amalgam's main targets, which means that any semblance of a peaceful life at Jindai Municipal High School is now over for her.

Pacifica Cassul is a kindhearted girl living on the run, for prophecy has named her the poison that would destroy the world. The girls of the Social Welfare Agency are no ordinary children. They are the grisly remains of human wreckage pieced back together with cybernetic implants and trained to kill by the government. The oldest, Triela, pursues her targets with a ferocious enthusiasm, unwilling to settle for less than total annihilation. Her mirror in this bloody stalemate is Pinocchio, a shell of a boy raised as an assassin by the FRF: a terrorist faction at war with the SWA. Cold and cruelly efficient, he wields sharpened steel as though it were an extension of his own hand. Once human, these shattered souls have become murderous machines with only vague recollections of what it meant to be real — and a brutal compulsion to be the last killer standing.

A genetically engineered soldier created by the sinister Von Richter, Cybersix now hides from her creator as she struggles to discover who she really is. By day, she poses as male high school teacher Adrian Seidelman, hiding the feelings she has for another teacher and avoiding the crush one of her students has on her secret identity. At night, however, the city of Meridiana is anything but quiet. Setting aside her assumed identity, Cybersix must battle against her own kind; monstrous weapons created by Von Richter. The mad scientist plans to rule the world through terror, and the only thing standing in his way is his strongest "failure" and his greatest enemy: Cybersix . Who will prevail in this clash of creator and created? Can Cybersix live as a human and protect those she loves, or will she turn out to be nothing more than the very weapons she fights against?
