Sinbad: The Magic Lamp and the Moving Islands

The story begins when Sinbad, the sailor made famous in the One Thousand and One Nights (Arabian Nights) stories, dreams of voyaging to an unknown world. He and his pet monkey Mimi encounter Sana, a girl riding a flying wooden horse. "The wind shifted…."

The search for Sana’s comrades continues. Sara who opens up her heart to Sinbad reveals her horrible story of how her father’s apprentice Galip destroyed the peaceful kingdom and her family by using the wizardly power. Suddenly the Magic Lamp shows the passage “to the Wonder Gate to the land of ancestors that appears in the Night at High Noon,” but Galip’s solders block their path.

Fifteen years before the events of Magi, a brave and handsome young man named Sinbad set sail and started his adventure. The future High King of Seven Seas gradually matured through various encounters and farewells, taking him towards kingship step by step.

This is a work by Toei Animation Co., Ltd. with screenplay by Tezuka Osamu in cooperation with novelist Kita Morio.
