The Fairytale World is in trouble. Its princesses and their respective worlds are disappearing, causing a ripple effect in the human world where their stories are popular. In order to save the Fairytale World, the Queen sends three magic animals, Sei, Dai, and Ryoku, to the human world with magic gems to find three girls who can become the "Super Miracle Idols," the princesses Snow White, Cinderella, and Kaguya-hime. Those "princesses" end up being three little girls: Yukimori Ringo, Takashiro Layla, and Sasahara Natsuki. But the gems transform them into older singing superstars, and after their accidental debut at the singer Wish's concert, they become known as "Little Princesses," or "LilPri." Now they must collect Happiness Tones from humans in order to restore the Fairytale World.

The lovely campus "Princesses" must dress as girls (in frilly Gothic Lolita costumes) at school events in order to lighten the stolid masculine atmosphere. Tooru balks at first, but soon comes to realize the advantages of being a "Princess."

Long ago, she made a promise with a boy named Kanata to never give up the dream, and he gifted her a dress-shaped key. On her first day at the academy, Haruka runs into the fairies Pafu and Aroma who came from the mystical Hope Kingdom in search of the Princess Precures to save their world from the dark witch Dyspear. Now, with the help of Princess Perfume and the Dress Up Key from Hope Kingdom's Prince Kanata, Haruka transforms into Cure Flora to protect everyone's dreams from being locked away by Dys Dark's minions. With her friends Cure Mermaid and Cure Twinkle by her side, the three princesses join forces in battle to protect dreams, collect the 12 Dress Up Keys, and stop Dyspear's plot to turn everyone to despair.
