Terms and conditions

Using Zenbu means you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Zenbu, and old enough to enter into a contract in your country if you subscribe to Premium. Adult content is only ever shown to signed-in Premium accounts that have deliberately enabled it.

Zenbu lets you browse an anime catalog, search it semantically — by title, by genre or by describing a plot in your own words — and open a detail page for any title. Signed-in accounts can additionally mark titles as favorite, watched or plan-to-watch, keep a private history of their searches, and optionally publish selected anime lists on a public profile.

Semantic search sends your query to an external AI provider to be turned into a numerical representation and, where reranking applies, to be ordered by relevance. This is described in detail in the privacy policy.

We may change, add or remove features as the product develops. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription includes, we will say so before it takes effect.

You can sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email address. There are no passwords to manage.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This immediately cancels any active subscription to prevent future renewals and erases your library, your search history, your feedback and your account record; it cannot be undone and does not issue an automatic refund.

Semantic search costs us money on every query, so every tier is metered — including administrators. There is no unlimited plan.

Looking up similar anime does not consume your allowance. Browsing the catalog and opening detail pages are unmetered and always free.

Attempting to work around these limits — sharing one account across many people, automating requests, or creating accounts in bulk to collect free allowances — is a breach of these terms and may result in suspension.

Premium is a recurring subscription of €3.99 per month or €39.99 per year. Prices are in euros and include VAT where applicable. Payment is handled entirely by Stripe; we never see or store your card details.

Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal, reachable in the user menu. Cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your Premium access running until the end of the period you have already paid for.

If a renewal payment fails, Premium access continues for a 24-hour grace period. If payment succeeds within that window, access continues uninterrupted; if it does not, the account returns to the free tier and keeps all of its saved data.

Because Premium is consumed as you use it, we do not offer refunds for periods that have already started, except where consumer law in your country requires one. If something has gone wrong with a charge, write to us and we will look at it.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these rules. Where the breach is minor and fixable, we will normally tell you before doing so.

Catalog information — titles, synopses, cover images, genres, studios and scores — comes from AniList and belongs to AniList and to the rights holders of each work. Zenbu does not claim ownership of it, and does not host, stream or link to pirated copies of any anime.

The Zenbu name, interface, design and code are ours. Your library, your searches and your feedback remain yours; by sending feedback you allow us to use it to improve the product.

If you hold rights to something shown here and believe it should not be, write to us at [email protected] and we will deal with it promptly.

Zenbu is provided as it is. Search is a best effort: results come from an AI model interpreting your words and will sometimes be wrong, incomplete or strange. Catalog data may be inaccurate or out of date, since it originates from a third party.

We do not promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we do not guarantee that it will meet any particular need you have for it.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Zenbu. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by agreement.

You can stop using Zenbu at any time, and delete your account from Settings whenever you want. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or discontinue the service altogether — in which case we will give reasonable notice and will not charge for a period you cannot use.

We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. For significant changes we will notify signed-in users, and continuing to use Zenbu after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by Spanish law and the consumer-protection rules of the European Union. If you are a consumer, you keep the protections of the law of the country you live in, and you may bring a claim before the courts there.

For anything about these terms, write to [email protected]. We answer as quickly as we reasonably can.
